About Our CSA

Upbeet Produce is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) vegetable farm. CSA is where you partner with our farm by purchasing a share in the farm and thus becoming a member. You then receive a weekly box of vegetables, at a bulk discount, for 22 weeks from June 5 – Oct 30 for the 2025 season. We grow over 35 different vegetables, with multiple varieties of some vegetables – including some heirlooms. All of our produce is certified organic and non-GMO. When it comes to eating, we believe it's important what you are eating and how you feel after a meal. Our farm provides you local, fresh, pristine, healthy produce that leaves you feeling upbeet! Produce in each week's share varies depending on what is in season. We offer a variety of share options to choose from:

-Every Other Week (EOW) Single Share - feeds 1-2 people. One share delivered every other week for 22 weeks.

-Weekly Single Share - feeds 2-3 people. One share delivered weekly for 22 weeks.

-Every Other Week (EOW) Double Share - feeds 2-3 people. Two shares delivered every other week for 22 weeks.

-Weekly Double Share -  feeds 4-6 people. Two shares delivered weekly for 22 weeks.

-Monthly Share - If you're new to CSA, travel a lot, or new to regularly eating veggies, this would be a great option! With this option you will receive one CSA share per month, from June through Oct. All CSA events except for the "You Pick" are included in the monthly membership option. Limited spots are available.

Shares will be available for pick-up on Thursdays, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

We offer four pick-up sites to choose from:

-Basics Cooperative, 1711 Lodge Dr, Janesville, WI 53545

-Genisa Wine Bar, 11 N Main St, Janesville, WI 53545

-Upbeet Produce Farm, 9702 W County Rd M, Edgerton, WI 53534

-Sara's Health & Fitness, 121 N Henry St, Edgerton, WI 53534

Customize Your Share Option

If you would like to have more control over what you receive in your share, and have better ease of incorporating more of the veggies that you enjoy into your diet, then the customize your share option would be a great choice. On the Friday prior to picking up your CSA share, you will receive an email with a list of all the veggies currently available. You will then simply select the veggies you would like, submit the form, and that is what you will receive in your upcoming share. The customize option does need to be purchased along with your share, but we have found that members find it to be well worth the price. To learn more about the customize option, click here.

Standard Share Option

The standard share option is what you automatically receive when purchasing a CSA share without making an additional purchase of the customize option. If you like to be surprised with what you are receiving, enjoy a wide range of vegetables, and are looking to save some money, then the standard share would be a good option for you. We (the farmer) choose what goes in each of your shares. We vary each share as much as possible, so CSA members can experience a wide variety of vegetables in their diet.

Member Involvement

We want our members to feel like they are truly a part of the farm!

Each week’s share contains a newsletter with recipes, veggie identification, and farm updates. Members with the standard CSA share have the option to receive a list of what items will be in their shares several days prior to picking it up.

We will be hosting five farm events in 2025 for our members:

  • Visit Your Farmers (hosted on farm in late June)

  • Farm Tour (hosted on farm in late July)

  • Cooking Class (hosted in Basic's Cooperative community room in late July)

  • You Pick Day (come pick as many free tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs as you would like in mid-August; not included with monthly share)

  • Fall Harvest Dinner (food provided by us in late September!)

Most years we have some crops left over in the field after the CSA season. If that is the case at the end of next season, members of all share sizes will be able to come and glean items to take home at no cost. Date: Nov, TBD.

We highly welcome and encourage feedback from CSA members throughout and after the season. It is very important for us to know how the CSA experience is going for our members.

Members Receive Discount at Upbeet Market

CSA members receive a 10% percent discount on vegetables (not mushrooms) and flower bouquets at the Upbeet Market for the entire 2025 season (no limit on number of transactions or total amount). Upbeet Market is a farm store located here at the farm. Click here to learn more.

About Our Farm

The farm is surrounded by rolling hills of prairies and red rustic outbuildings. It's conveniently located just 20 minutes northwest of Janesville and halfway between Evansville and Edgerton. We follow practices that promote sustainability. This is accomplished through building soil and limiting erosion by using cover crops and compost in the fields, encouraging living organisms in the soil through limiting tilling, and protecting the soil by using mulch wherever possible.

Expected Crops for 2025

Basil, green beans, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cantaloupe, carrots, celery, cauliflower, cilantro, cucumbers, dill, eggplant, fennel, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, onions, parsley, peppers, potatoes, radishes, spinach, squash (summer & winter), Swiss chard, tomatoes (cherry too), turnips & more!
